 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...9yrs9Y

Yes, we deserve to know who the bank gives money to

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...9yrs9Y

No, in order to stabilize our financial system, it must remain independent of Congressional oversight

 @9GF9SPZ from Ohio  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Yes, congress shouldn't be allowed to control everything financial but how can you trust everyday people to look after the country's money?

 @9FLTXFK from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

We have to know where our money is being spent in contrast to the budget that Congress is in charge of laying out so it is not outside of Congress's power to check its bank statement.

 @9FLT5ST from Illinois  disagreed…2yrs2Y

When the federal reserve is not in sight and not monitored then this means that things can go untraced and money may be stolen and shipped under our noses.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...8yrs8Y

No, they are already audited by an independent agency

The Federal Reserve shouldn't just be audited, they should be kicked out all together. They are unconstitutional.

 @B22Y3Q2  from Ohio  answered…5mos5MO

No, they're already audited and "audited the fed" only allows congress to make oversight decisions and policy review subject to congressional pressure.

 @9ZHLZTJ from Florida  answered…6mos6MO

The position should vary depending on the bank's perspective on the bank's independence and the need for transfer.

 @9XSVFBW from Oklahoma  answered…7mos7MO

States use gold standard for in-state currency, to help relieve burden on the federal reserve while still using the federal reserve also. This would only be used for items and services within the state.

 @9TQ8JH6 from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

No. They are already subject to sufficient review. And the House of Representatives in 118th Congress has proven that it is not merely willing but eager to abuse its power and authority.

 @9RPWHH6Republican from South Carolina  answered…10mos10MO

Yes - but in an honest to goodness bipartisan way and not for republicans and democrats to try to use the audits to gain political power. Get people on the panel with strong economic backgrounds...

 @9RLSP7Zfrom Maine  answered…10mos10MO

I agree somewhat however congress is often bought for by corporations so this may be even worse than the current alternative but i feel like we need more public awareness of the federal reserve which congress will facilitate.

 @Adalin from New Jersey  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but I would prefer to establish a fully backed standard, whether it is gold or a globally recognized cryptocurrency with an established market cap.

 @9LSDZYL from Michigan  answered…1yr1Y

Let them work independently. Its how the economy runs. If things do mess up, then we can hold them accountable and then we all will fix it accordingly.

 @9LM7W7H from Montana  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but I would prefer if the nation lost both it's ability to take on debt and act as a creditor. How can the government that acts as the authority creditors use to threaten debtors be able to take on debt itself. The government should be an outcome of the people, unable to claim its own individual debts.

 @9L7R77L  from VI  answered…1yr1Y

Well, considering that news reports have came out saying that the Federal Reserve Bank had a $114 BILLION loss last year, I do think they need to be audited by Congress.

 @9JSH4PZ from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

No because Congress already can’t do their job with setting a budget so why would they be capable of this?

  @charlie3sticks from Guam  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, if for no other reason than to provide another avenue to transparently observe the barrenness of the entire byzantine system of monetary distribution we have created.

 @9JCMBSL from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

depends on the reasoning, sets a precedence for the government to have more oversight over the banks spending, which situationally could mean the government prevents social and economic security, although depending on previous spending if inappropriate could be needed.

 @9HNPFFT from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, or by some organization that is trustworthy because we deserve to know who the bank gives money to. However, we need to transition back to the gold or sliver standard and may make the Federal Reserve Bank unnecessary in its current form.

 @zackrspv  from Colorado  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but not by Congress, but more an independent commission within congress or drafted by congress.

 @JakeRepublican  from Washington D.C.  answered…1yr1Y

There should be an audit but also some kind of committee to determine if it is still a feasible way of conducting business for Americans. Should we return to the gold standard if deemed to not work in the best interest of the people?

 @7PTCG38Democrat  from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but the audit should be conducted by an independent, non-governmental agency, with the results submitted in a report to Congress for review and follow-up

 @9H4NH35 from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

Congress can't find their way into or out of the bathroom. They should have no oversight of anything to do with our finances. Independent third party audits are much preferred.

 @7PTCG38Democrat  from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y
