Currently, GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) foods in the United States are not classified differently by the FDA and do not require labeling. Although no reports of ill effects from GMO foods have been documented, advocacy groups such as Greenpeace and the Organic Consumers Association argue that past studies cannot be trusted because they were sponsored by pro-GMO companies and do not measure the long-term effects on humans, the environment, and nature. Opponents argue that labeling adds an unfounded stigma over organic foods and that if a nutritional or allergenic difference were found, current FDA regulations would already require a label.

Yes they should be labeled and more research should be done on the effects of GMOs. We should also have different ratings for the different types of GMOs thay clearly explain what was done/why this food is considered a GMO. This should be true for all foods and medicines not just GMOs. The FDA should be revised and products should be retested periodically.

Depends on what was altered, if we get to a point where we can alter the very attributes of food (like vitamin content) then yes, but if we keep up with just selective breeding then there is no real need.
@95H7B6F3yrs3Y
I dont have a view on this
@8Z5KGWY3yrs3Y
Yes, but only if they're harmful
@8Z5KBDV3yrs3Y
Yes, As long as it's not harmful
@8YSM2B9Republican3yrs3Y
No, the government should not mandate private businesses
@8YQBKPT3yrs3Y
Its just good to know what you are buying. Personally I love GMOs
@8XZMRQY3yrs3Y
Depending on the type of GMO, if by pure breeding No, if by inserting genetics then yes.

Yes they should, but the stigma against the science needs to be removed.
GMOs are fine in theory, some can have risks. Gt-bred soybeans accidentally introduced allergens from nuts, for example. Test, test, test, then use!

Yes, regardless of GMOs being good or bad, consumers should have the freedom to know what’s in their food. We should be allowed option to decide l to buy GMO or Organic foods.
@8DJX93D5yrs5Y
Yes but costumers should be educated in what GMO are
@8DBFM3MLibertarian5yrs5Y
Yes, I trust the science of responsible food engineering but consumers still have a right to know what is in their food.
@8CR3M3K5yrs5Y
Yes, however only if transgenetics is concerned as most GMOs is just artificial selection
@8C7MVGZ5yrs5Y
Yes, but GMOs should absolutely not be painted in a negative connotation.
@984JHX83yrs3Y
Yes, but it should be openly known that the product is modified
@8ZKPKYB3yrs3Y
Yes, but reconsider this once GMO research comes to a more conclusive state.

I thought this was already happening?
