Currently, GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) foods in the United States are not classified differently by the FDA and do not require labeling. Although no reports of ill effects from GMO foods have been documented, advocacy groups such as Greenpeace and the Organic Consumers Association argue that past studies cannot be trusted because they were sponsored by pro-GMO companies and do not measure the long-term effects on humans, the environment, and nature. Opponents argue that labeling adds an unfounded stigma over organic foods and that if a nutritional or allergenic difference were found, current FDA regulations would already require a label.

yes those that may be allergic to the substance in the GMO should be able to now what they are consuming
@9KX7X9C1yr1Y
Consumers have the right to know what they are purchasing, but also the responsibility to find out what it is they are purchasing.
@9KM4KWC1yr1Y
Regardless, producers must properly educate the public on how GMOs relate to their products because not all GMOs are bad.
@9HQNTKG1yr1Y
yes, people have a right to know what they're eating. instead, educate people so they realize GMOs aren't that bad and can help solve world hunger problems.
@9HJX7M72yrs2Y
i think that gmos should be heavily monitored more than they are because it could start puberty and other life tendencies to happen to fast
@9DXG5GV2yrs2Y
The government shouldn’t be involved with private companies
Yes but people shouldn't have an immediate response to thinking GMOs are bad
@9HYRCLV1yr1Y
We should further define what exactly GMO means. I believe it should be labelled if the GMO is modified through direct genetic alteration to the organism's genome, but not if it is modified through artificial selection, as this method has been around for thousands of years. Gene editing has only been around since the modern era.

Some people would like to know if it is gmos or not but ultimately up to the producer
if the store wants to lable it for people to know what they are getting
Yes, but GMO that have possible negative health effects should be banned.
@8SHWBKF4yrs4Y
Yes but it shouldn't be stigmatized as selectively breeding crops is the same thing on a less refined scale, and is the entire reason we have a massive chunk of the food we have today
@8SG4VSH4yrs4Y
i dont really know enough about this topic to have a stance
@8RR5J534yrs4Y
Yes, some people could be allergic or have specific diets that they NEED to know what is in their food for their health because of medical or personal reasons.
@dvdman4yrs4Y
Yes, and GMOs need to be banned
@8R942V94yrs4Y
Who cares it makes no difference
@8FYBRP4Republican5yrs5Y
There's nothing wrong with another food source. But they should be labeled.
@8CZZSFB5yrs5Y
You should know what your eating but you shouldn't tell a private business on what they can and can't do
@8C7WJC3Progressive5yrs5Y
Don’t care as long as it’s not harmful to our bodies
@98H56Y22yrs2Y
Yes for a more knowledagble population you should know what is in your food but but there should also be more eduction as to the individual ingredients and what they are and what their purpose is
@989KDYG3yrs3Y
Yes, but only for the people who want to know about that
@97BG4CC3yrs3Y
Almost all foods have been selectively bred so by definition are GMO. It’s too broad a term for use. But everything about a food product should be available to the consumer so they can make healthy decisions in their eating choices
@8ZKL5JW3yrs3Y
i don't not what this is
@8XSXYDW4yrs4Y
I’m an engineer does that I’m a GMO?
