Yes as long as they have the correct training for said gun and if they have a permit and no past records of mental disorders

 @B3K2R66 from Utah  answered…3mos3MO

if students can as well if they have a fire arms permit and teachers beacuse there are stories of crazy teachers

 @B3G2XGS from Utah  answered…3mos3MO

yes, but background checks on the teachers to see if they have any criminal record/mental illnesses that could make them go against the students

 @B24LLDN from Utah  answered…6mos6MO

I think in certain places a teacher should be able to carry guns. I think if they do have a gun they must be trained very fully. The teacher has a background check and psychological testing and training.

 @9W573XD from Utah  answered…8mos8MO

yes, under strict training and proper screening, not all teachers should have one, give it to people who know what they're doing

 @9MGNHLJ from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

Not really, but I do believe among people staffed at the school, someone should have a gun, such as an officer.

 @9KG2H35 from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

Either have we’ll-trained people or allow teacher who are able to pass a background test carry one at schools.

 @9FB4DGR from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, Teachers and trained security guards should work to protect students.

 @94GH4DT from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but they have very very strict rules. Violating these can result a teacher being fired and prevented from being hired at any other school

Yes but no because if someone comes in and trys to hurt the students the teacher can self defend the kids but no because other wise there is no point and if they get mad at a kid they could hurt one.

 @8X9XMSH from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only if the teacher has been thoroughly trained on proper safety measures and what situations it would be necessary to use it in.

 @8X8WN9R from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8X7CKDG from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, as long as it is always secure and the teacher has train on when and how to use it

 @8X7CGBG from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, only if they have a carrying permit and can legally carry in the state.

 @8W958QZ from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8V7JQ4G from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

only teachers who have passed a conceal carry and training with secure firearm practices.

 @8V357F6Independent from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but the guns should be hidden from students and the teacher would need the training to carry a gun.

Yes, they should be allowed if they have the right permits and are experienced with owning a gun.

 @8RTLR4F from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but they require the same background checks and the same with the professionally trained security guard too.

 @8RMSLSCIndependent from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

Teachers should have the option if they carry safely and have a concealed weapons permit.

 @8N5N7FH from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8MTJQSJ from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but need a background check and need to be trustworthy and have it hidden and locked in a safe.

 @8HR9TP7 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Any teacher may carry a gun on school grounds with the proper licenses and registrations but may only take out the gun in an emergency.

 @8H2VJ8SLibertarian from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8G9BCZJ from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, teachers who choose to carry and have gone through training should be allowed to carry.

 @8CBK2JX from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

at least one guard at every school, and if they are in a dangerous area then possibly more.

 @8CBK2G9 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

I don't think they should carry guns. But I think that they need to have some defense.

 @9CP4M4C from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, schools should require at least one teacher or security guard to be armed, and require all teachers to take a course on gun laws and safety

 @9987YVF from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Depends on the person, the school, and what kind of circumstance they may be in.

 @8KF2662 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Teachers are already allowed!! They should if they feel comfortable enough to

 @8J7XQFBWrite-In from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, They should be allowed, but not required; with the stipulation that they have continual, certified training and competency exams in using firearms effectively and safely, as well as psychological exams.

 @9W39XFQRepublican from Utah  answered…8mos8MO

Yes because the teachers are responsible for keeping their students safe, and if there is a threat that could kill them, they should be able to protect them by any means necessary; it becomes a war.

 @9W282F2 from Utah  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but only for when there is a school lockdown or shooting to help defend the students and teachers until authorities arrive. Self-defence is not bad, and unfortunately, it is being scolded and seem as a crime.
