I believe the debate tells us a lot about what we value as a society. A transgender person is viewed as “fake” or something of the sorts when they take hormones, however when a cis athlete does the exact same thing, nobody bats an eye. The idea that trans people shouldn’t be athletes due to some type of advantage or disadvantage it gives them an excuse for bigotry and transphobia. Trans people should be allowed and encouraged in all spaces

Over time we have pushed to allow for people to identify how they like, this was inevitably going to transition to world of sports. By allowing biological males to participate in female sports there will always be issues of unfair advantages. Most people that I have talked to that support transgender identification fail to have a good way to explain why they would support it in sports.

I respect individual's freedom but when it comes to physical activities I am not so inclined go agree, if transgender athletes participate they should be in their own weight class and if none exist to compete against they can't participate

Yes, on one hand some people argue that allowing transgender athletes to compete with their gender promotes respect for individual rights.
On the other hand, others raise concerns about fairness in competition particularly in sports where it's a physical advantage can play a huge role.

There are biological advantages given to transgender athletes whenever they compete in the gendered sport they transitioned into. That is not fair in my opinion.

the debate of transgender athletes is not really about societal values but rather just If its fair for those who have transitioned from male to female to compete in the same games as people who have been women their entire lives as their bodies have very different makeups due to at one time being male and having those hormones and genetics that help in things like muscle develeopment

Yes we don’t need “women “ being hurt by actual men just because they are transgender

Transgender athletes is unfair but people shouldn’t discriminate them just because they are transgender
